Hire me for a project
A new website, store, plugin or web app, a fix, or ongoing support. Paid by milestone or monthly retainer.

Hello Everyone! I’m Bikas Kumar.
I’m Bikas Kumar, a full-stack developer and WordPress engineer in Kolkata, India, working with clients worldwide. I build custom WordPress themes and plugins, WooCommerce and Shopify stores, Laravel applications and React / Next.js frontends.
Years of experience building for the web
Portfolio projects across India, the UK, Europe and Australia
A project to build, or a seat on your team. Both reach me directly, with no agency or marketplace in between.
A new website, store, plugin or web app, a fix, or ongoing support. Paid by milestone or monthly retainer.
Open to full-time remote roles and long-term contracts, working inside your repository, tools and process.
I deliver end-to-end development: custom WordPress sites, Shopify stores, Laravel applications and React-based frontends. Fast delivery, clean code, and long-term support.
Custom themes without page builders, plugins, WooCommerce stores, speed fixes and long-term maintenance.
CRMs, booking and payment flows, REST and GraphQL APIs, and careful work on legacy PHP code.
Fast, search-friendly front ends, dashboards and headless WordPress or WooCommerce storefronts.

Most WordPress problems come from how a site was built, not from WordPress itself: a page builder stacked on a heavy theme, a pile of overlapping plugins, or nobody owning updates.
Caching, image formats and script clean-up for faster pages.
Person, Service, FAQ and breadcrumb schema that matches the page.
robots.txt, noindex, canonicals and duplicate tags, found and fixed.
Metadata and rendering that keep Next.js sites visible in search.

Laravel applications for the hard parts of a business: CRMs, booking and payments, role-based access, reporting and integrations, built with tested logic and clear structure.

React.js front ends for dashboards, CRMs, quizzes and learning platforms, and Next.js websites built for speed and search, including headless WordPress and WooCommerce.

What clients usually ask before hiring me.
It depends on scope. A small fix can be done in a few hours, while a custom theme or plugin is a fixed-price project. Send your brief and I’ll reply with a written quote and a timeline before any work starts.
Marketplaces are useful for discovery, but hiring directly removes platform fees and lets you agree terms that fit your project. You can check every project here on its live site before you decide.
Yes. Taking over existing sites is a large part of my work. I start with a short audit of the theme, plugins and hosting, then tell you what is safe to keep and what needs fixing.
I’m in India (IST), and my working hours overlap with the UK and European working day. Calls can be arranged for US clients too.
Yes. Every build ships with clean markup, one heading structure per page, correct titles and canonicals, an XML sitemap, schema where it fits, and fast loading. Rankings also depend on content and competition, so I won’t promise a position.
Fixed-price projects are usually split into milestones. Retainers are billed monthly. Everything is agreed in writing before work starts.
Tell me what you need built or fixed, pick a call time in your own time zone or ask for an email reply.
